Asbestos Management Surveys

Management Surveys are non-destructive Surveys to allow for a Management Plan to be formed in accordance with Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

These surveys are typically carried out in commercial buildings (Offices, Schools etc) and to meet mortgage companies requirements during purchases of property.

A Management Survey will find all asbestos (as far as reasonably practical) that maybe damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy.

Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys

It is a legal requirement to carry out a pre-refurbishment Asbestos Survey prior to works commencing on ANY building in the UK. Pre-refurbishment surveys are fully intrusive and can be destructive.

Prior to refurbishment works, these surveys are carried out in order to identify asbestos containing materials which may be disturbed during the works. Pre-Refurbishment Surveys can be targeted to specific areas or items and can be carried out in conjunction with Asbestos Management Surveys.

Asbestos Re-inspection Surveys

As part of an ongoing Management Plan, you are required to undertake periodic Re-Inspection Surveys to ensure the condition of the asbestos within the premises hasn’t deteriorated. These are usually carried out on a continual 6 or 12-month cycle.

A Re-Inspection Survey will consist of a visual inspection of the identified and / or presumed asbestos within the previous Survey / Management Plan. It will also consist of inspecting any warning labels, signage or any materials which have been used to enclose / protect any asbestos containing materials.

A Material Assessment will be undertaken to determine the level of risk presented, and whether any remedial actions are required.
